About Augmentation + Lift
Did you know that you can have a breast augmentation and a lift? Repositioning the breast higher on the chest wall does not necessarily mean that there will be a substantial amount of breast tissue left for shapely, beautiful breasts. Breast lift surgery with augmentation enhances breast volume while also eliminating loose skin. This is very common in breast surgery performed by our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Naveen Setty, at Setty Plastics & Aesthetics.
Dr. Setty may recommend a breast augmentation in tandem with a breast lift (mastopexy) to improve multiple areas of concern, such as size, shape, symmetry, the appearance of stretch marks, and position to create perkier, more youthful-looking breasts. Make an appointment with Dr. Setty in Allen, McKinney, or Dallas, TX to talk about your unique needs and goals one on one, so he can help you decide if a breast augmentation with a lift best suits your needs.
"BOTOX® Cosmetic - The process was simple and easy and the results were great."- Anonymous / RealPatientRatings / Jan 15, 2019
"Tummy Tuck - Dr. Setty and team are real people with all types of bodies who have been where I was prior to my surgery. They were so open minded that I constantly felt like I could be completely honest with them. I never felt ashamed about anything. It is rare to find a practice where you feel supported by the entire team. They truly wanted this to be a great experience for me. Prior to the surgery, I was struggling with keeping my pants up because of the extra skin. I was also not able to use my stomach muscles at all. Now I can tighten my stomach muscles and my clothes fit like they are supposed to. I have a lot more work to do to loose some weight, but the surgery gave me the confidence I needed to do that."- Anonymous / RealPatientRatings / Feb 07, 2019

"In October of 2018 I had surgery for a breast reduction. My journey started out with a consultation with Dr. Setty. He made me feel comfortable right away. I had a ton of questions and Dr. Setty answered every one of them and never made me feel rushed. I really appreciated that Dr. Setty was honest and up front with me about what to expect. There are several reasons why you may be wanting breast surgery combining augmentation and a lift. It's a good option if you would like to dramatically rejuvenate your breasts while also improving your skin elasticity. You may have breast sagging caused by aging, significant weight loss, or pregnancy, therefore you would like to enhance the fullness of your breasts — this can all be achieved with a lift and augmentation. Dr. Setty will be able to determine if a lift alone will get your desired outcome, or if both a lift and implants are better to attain your goals.
At the time of consultation, you will try on breast implants that fit your anatomy and you will gain a sense of what your final result may be. One important consideration is that a more conservative breast augmentation is often suggested by Dr. Setty. If you select an implant that is too large, you may experience early complications of breast sagging and loose skin once again.
This combination breast surgery is generally performed at an accredited, state-of-the-art surgical facility as an outpatient procedure unless combined with a tummy tuck. General anesthesia will be administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist, and you may be under for 1 – 3 hours. Dr. Setty will perform the augmentation first, then the excess skin from the breast will be removed around the areola and along the lower central portion of the breast. Incision scars will be of the "lollipop" type around the areola and straight down the breast to the crease under the breast. The areola will be decreased in size and the nipple will be raised in a more perky position. A drain may be placed to prevent fluid collection. All sutures will be absorbable and skin glue will be placed on the incisions. You will be fitted into a surgical bra at the end of the surgery. You will need to wear this bra (or a wireless bra) for six weeks to keep your breast in the proper place for faster healing.
What to Expect
The time needed for recovery from breast surgery will be different for each patient. You will probably be strong enough to resume your day-to-day activities in about seven days. Exercise and strenuous activities should be avoided for six weeks. There will also be moderate inflammation after your surgery that may last for 4 – 6 weeks or less. Your breasts will settle into their new position in a few months. you will be able to see your stunning results anywhere between six weeks and three months.
Oral pain medications, muscle relaxants, and sometimes antibiotics are given as prescriptions for the post-operative period. You can expect some pain to be experienced for the first week, especially if the implants were placed under the muscle.
