Breast Revision Gallery Patient 307933

This 59 year old woman had breast implants in place for 30 years. They were 360 cc textured saline implants placed above the muscle. A few months prior to her consult, she had developed swelling and sudden enlargement of her right breast. On exam, Dr. Setty was concerned about BIA-ALCL (breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma). Preoperative studies were done including removing fluid from around the implant that did not show any malignancy. A two stage approach was done to minimize risk of healing issues as well as to ensure no significant pathology. In the first stage, the implants and the entire scar capsule was removed. After 6 months, a breast augmentation with 330 cc silicone implants under the muscle was performed along with a breast lift. The patient is shown 6 months after the 2nd procedure with soft and natural results.
