Popular Surgical Technique Combinations
A variety of procedures can be applied together — the most popular treatments are a breast lift with or without implants, abdominoplasty, vaginal rejuvenation, and BodyTite liposuction. All of these procedures are performed under general anesthesia, which could last 3 to 7 hours, depending on the complexity of the surgical case. An overnight stay at the hospital for a few days may be required in cases involving multiple procedures to monitor recovery, but usually, patients will go home the same day. Mommy makeover technique combinations include:
Tummy Tuck & Liposuction
The skin and muscle tissues in the abdominal areas stretch during pregnancy and will leave skin sagging. Even after weight loss, exercise training and dieting, the skin may remain loose and unsightly. An abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, can revitalize your stomach and abdominal area by removing excess skin, tightening the inner walls of your stomach muscles, and removing unwanted fatty deposits and tightening skin through BodyTite liposuction. The result is a tighter, flatter abdominal profile. The use of liposuction during the tummy tuck portion of the mommy makeover removes excess fat that develops during pregnancy as well.
Breast Lift, Breast Augmentation, and/or Breast Reduction
A breast lift (mastopexy) reconstructs the breast in such a way that the excess fat and skin hanging from a pendulous breast is eliminated. To give the breast a "lifted" appearance, Dr. Setty will tighten the tissues of the breast and position it in a higher position. If your nipple or areola was stretched after pregnancy or breastfeeding, Dr. Setty will address the tissue surrounding the nipple or areola for a rejuvenated, symmetrical look.
If you desire fuller, larger breasts, Dr. Setty can perform a breast augmentation along with the lift. This cosmetic enhancement uses either saline or silicone breast implants to create a bust line that is, perhaps, larger and fuller than your pre-pregnancy breast size. Once again, the option of augmentation should be discussed with Dr. Setty in your consultation prior to surgery to determine the best course of treatment.
